Only moderate speed here with First Conquest and Opera Ballo leading the way. Notable Speech didn't have the clearest of paths when winning the Lockinge Stakes but he ran through his gears late and put them to the sword. The long straight at Ascot will suit him well - I wouldn't be surprised to see the price drift out a bit. Opera Ballo is coming off a good Group 2 win where he stacked them up and took off. Expecting the stable to apply similar tactics here and his record at the mile is outstanding. NOTABLE SPEECH (6) Left nothing to chance when winning by 2L last run at Newbury and proven performer at this distance. William T Buick has been successful previously and has drawn the rails. Hard to overlook. OPERA BALLO (7) Won easily by 3L last start at Sandown and suited at this trip historically. Trainer has gone for the ear muffs on, take note. Challenged by more formidable competitors. One of the major hopes. MORE THUNDER (5) Ran well when 2nd last start at Newbury. Can't be left out of exotics. ZEUS OLYMPIOS (9) Tidy run when 3rd last time at Newbury. Amongst the placegetters at every start this preparation. Looks a value runner.
