Southeast Asian teams often dominate the professional MLBB video game scene, and they go into the tournament as the favourites.

We’re predicting Team Liquid PH to win the MLBB Mid-Season Cup. They won the 2025 MSC tournament, and they’re one of the top contenders in 2026. Although they lost their opening match, Team Liquid PH still have a good chance to qualify for the knockout stage through the lower bracket. They have an experienced roster who have all won major tournaments together.
MLBB dark horse and teams to watch
ONIC are an Indonesian Esports team with an impressive record in major MLBB tournaments, including winning MPL Indonesia Season 16 and finishing runners-up in Season 17. They won their opening match against Entity7.
The Selangor Red Giants are one of the favorites to win the tournament after finishing as runners-up in 2025. More recently, they won Season 16 and 17 of the MPL Malaysia, and came 3rd at the M7 World Championship.
Aurora Gaming is our dark horse pick. Although they’re not part of the Southeast Asian teams that normally dominate the competition, they beat Team Liquid PH in their opening group stage match. The Turkish team recently won the MTC Turkiye Championship Season 7. They also finished 5th-8th in the MLBB MSC 2025.
Overwatch EWC 2026 predictions
The Overwatch Champions Series Midseason Championship is one of the most competitive events at the Esports World Cup. Team Falcons enter as the defending champions but there are lots of contenders with a chance of winning the tournament. From 29 July to 2 August, 16 teams battle it out over multiple stages for a share of the $1 million prize pool.
OWCS Midseason Championship winner prediction
Crazy Raccoon are our predicted winners of the OWCS Midseason Championship 2026 tournament. The South Korean team most recently won the OWCS Champions Clash, and is one of the favourites to win. They have a relatively straightforward path to the knockout stage too, as Group B is arguably not as strong as Group A.
Overwatch teams to watch
Virtus.pro are a strong contender to win the tournament, though they’ll have a tough run to the knockout stage. They’re a top team in the EMEA region, where they recently won the Stage 2 tournament undefeated.
Team Falcons are the defending champions, having won the OWCS Midseason Championship in 2025. They have a lot of gaming experience at major LAN tournaments and are one to watch.
Look out for Dallas Fuel as a potential dark horse contender. The team has returned from a 3-year hiatus this year and has won both stages of the OWCS NA tournament. They may have a tactical advantage over other teams due to there being fewer stats available on their playstyle.
Call of Duty Warzone EWC 2026 predictions
The Call of Duty Warzone Resurgence Series Championship is one of the hardest events to predict at the Esports World Cup. Teams of three players battle across a map to eliminate their opponents and score points rather than a traditional knockout bracket. Between 29 July and 1 August, top trios compete in Resurgence matches across 3 stages. These are similar to battle royale game modes, except that players can respawn as long as they have at least one teammate still in the fight. A prize pool worth $1 million is available to win, along with Club Championship points.
Warzone Resurgence Series winner prediction
Our predicted winner for this tournament is Team Falcons, the current betting favourite. However, the odds are subject to change following the group stage, as the format means there’s a high variance in team performance. The Team Falcons trio consists of Soka, Dongy and Newbz, who have established themselves as one of the best in the world. This year, they have won 2 Warzone Resurgence Series Esports tournaments: Birmingham and Atlanta.
Warzone trios and players to watch
Twisted Minds are the current defending champions, having won the Warzone tournament at the 2025 Esports World Cup. This year, their trio of Almond, Shifty and Blazt finished runners-up at Warzone Resurgence Series Birmingham and 4th at Atlanta.
Team Orchid is our dark horse pick for the Warzone Resurgence Series Championship. They’re not one of the favourites, but in a high variance tournament, they have a good chance of progression. They’re a French team, so will be performing in front of a home crowd at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. They also came 3rd at the Warzone Resurgence Series Atlanta tournament this year.
Honor of Kings EWC 2026 predictions
The Honor of Kings World Cup takes place this summer, in an event typically dominated by Chinese teams. However, this will be the first time entrants from India, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan have entered the tournament. Top teams in professional Honor of Kings will compete between the 30 July and 8 August with teams battling for a $3.02 million prize pool. AG.AL are the defending champions going into the tournament.

AG.AL International is our pick to win the Honor of Kings World Cup. The tournament is usually dominated by Chinese King Pro League (KPL) teams, and AG.AL International won the KPL Grand Finals in 2025. They’re also the current defending champions, having won the Honor of Kings World Cup 2025.
Honor of Kings teams to watch
Kuaishou Gaming are a major contender at the Honor of Kings World Cup. They recently won the KPL Spring tournament, and last year came 5th-6th at the KPL Grand Finals. They enter this tournament in the group stage, giving them an advantage.
NS RedForce is our dark horse pick. The South Korean team has to enter through the play-in stage. They only achieved a finish of 11th-14th at last year’s Honor of Kings World Cup, but recently finished runners-up at the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 4.
EWC 2026 Club Championship prediction
We’re predicting Team Vitality to win the Club Championship in 2026. The French team play with a home advantage and has a great chance due to qualifying for multiple tournaments. They’re competing in 17 events at this Esports World Cup. We expect Team Vitality to excel in CS2 and Valorant, while they’ll also compete in Chess, CrossFire and Rocket League.
Other contenders include Team Falcons and AG.AL International, which are both expected to field strong player rosters in multiple tournaments. Team Falcons were the 2025 Club Championship winners following strong performances in Dota 2, Chess and Overwatch 2. They’re competing in 20 events this year. Meanwhile, AG.AL International came 6th last year, with wins in Honor of Kings and CrossFire. They’re competing in 15 events in 2026.
Teams earn Club Championship points through results across multiple game titles, which makes strength across several esports more important than success in a single tournament. At the end of the tournament, the team with the most points is declared the champion.
